This year has shaped up to again be one like no other. Prolonged lockdowns, border closures, and separation from friends and family, combined with the achievement of impressive growth within the Lánluas business, has impacted everyone differently.

Ensuring our specialists across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom are provided with the support and assistance they need has always been a priority. With a continual focus on health and well-being, Lánluas has partnered with People Sense by Altius Group to deliver a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all employees. The bespoke program will provide employees and their immediate families access to confidential counselling services for anything they wish to discuss in relation to personal or work-related situations.

In addition to being able to speak with qualified and registered psychologists, employees will have access to a wellbeing platform that can be accessed via an app on their phones. The wellbeing platform provides a wellbeing tracker, detailed articles, and fact sheets on a wide range of topics across health, happiness, and financial security. Key topics include depression and anxiety.

As part of the wellbeing platform, there is a dedicated section for healthy cooking recipes, as well as the ability for staff to create their own community groups. One group that has already been started is a daily walking challenge, with team members from Sydney and Melbourne regularly checking in with each other.

The wellbeing platform provides information on a wide range of topics across health, happiness, and financial security. Key topics include depression and anxiety.

Sharon Richens from People Sense launched the program along with Lánluas Chief Executive, John Speed and Resource & Operations Manager, Keri Vicini. Advice from Sharon to the Lánluas team included, “Don’t wait until you’re at breaking point, reach out early,” encouraging those who may not be feeling themselves to make use of the free services on offer.

As we start to see restrictions ease across many areas and a sense of normality return, there may be the perception that many of the stresses and pressures we have been experiencing may subside. However, for many this isn’t the case, and for others there will be new challenges emerge.

I am really proud of the collaborative and supportive culture we’ve fostered at Lánluas

John Speed, Chief Executive

However, it is important that we all take active measures to ensure our long-term health and wellbeing both on a personal and professional level, and I am confident our Employee Assistance Program will be a valuable resource for everyone and their families.
